Will was born and raised in Enterprise, AL and loved every minute of growing up in a small town that truly understood the value of community. When he was 13, he felt the call to vocational ministry, yet thought that he would be a music educator and bi-vocational minister of music. This plan lead him to pursue both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in vocal/choral music education from Auburn University. He began his professional career teaching middle school and high school choir before beginning full-time ministry in late 2001 after feeling God calling him away from public school education. In 2010 he felt the call to further his theological and music training, which led to earning the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
He is involved in various facets of the Georgia Baptist Worship and Music Ministries. He participates in the Sons of Jubal (Georgia Baptist Men’s Chorus), he is an active adjudicator for the Georgia Baptist Keyboard Festivals, and he is a keyboard and vocal teacher for the middle school and high school Georgia Baptist summer music camp (Surge 150).
He is an active member in both the Georgia Baptist Church Music Conference and Baptist Church Music Conference, both of which he is an executive committee member. He is also an active member of the Grammy- award nominated Baptist professional male chorus, the CenturyMen. Over the last few years, he has sung on numerous choral demo recordings for Celebrating Grace and One Voice Publishers.
Besides his church and ministry responsibilities, he enjoys teaching private voice and piano lessons, running, reading, and traveling. His wife, Deanna, who is an educator, were married in 1998 and have three sons.
