Ivy Creek Baptist Church sent a mission team to Kenya for the in 2017. The team spent time teaching God’s word in Pastor Benard’s schools, visiting church members, and encouraging other believers in Wachara and Ahero, Kenya. While there the team saw the need of providing transportation for Pastor John, a pastor of a local church in Wachara. While in Kenya the team was able to purchase a motorcycle for him.

Pastor Benard’s schools in Wachara and Ahero are boarding schools for orphaned children. They depend on donations to pay teachers, administrators, staff, and provide room and board for the children. Ivy Creek has sponsored the Chicken Coop Project. The purpose of this project is to provide the school in Wachara a means of feeding the children and providing income. The eggs produced by the chickens will be feed to the children and sold to the community. The goal is for this to be a long term self sustaining means of income for the school.
