Be Careful Who You Imitate

Scripture Reference: 3 John 14(15)

Sermon in a Sentence

As believers, we must choose the examples we follow carefully because the attitudes and actions we emulate will not only have dramatic effects upon others, but they will also give evidence of a true relationship with God, or the lack thereof.

Sermon Outline

  1. A self-serving, “me-first” attitude inevitably leads to the destruction of relationships, wreaks havoc in the church, and runs counter to the admonition of Scripture and the testimony of Christ.
  1. A self-sacrificing attitude, fueled by the desire to live consistently for the sake of the gospel and the glory of God, will build relationships, advance the cause of Christ, and be attested to by the truth.
