When serving the Lord, discouragement and fear are overcome by releasing the past to focus on the continuing promises of God’s presence, power, and peace.

SERMON OUTLINE

  1. We become spiritually paralyzed by discouragement when we live in the past and make false comparisons.
  2. God calls us to abandon our fear and spiritual paralysis by remembering His promised presence and recalling His past deliverances.
  3. God encourages us to continued faithful service through the promise of future glory and the hope of eternal peace.
