Inspired by Mark 1:35-45
“A day hemmed in prayer seldom unravels.”
Who We Are
The Hemmed in Prayer Quilting Group was formed in 2018 to provide quilted items to support other mission groups at Ivy Creek Baptist Church. Areas we have supported on a consistent basis with quilts are Calvary Children’s Home, Obria Pregnancy Center, and NGHS Chemotherapy Centers. We have also supported our foreign mission group with pillowcases, backpacks, and raffle quilts for their yearly auction and have met many special requests such as fidget quilts for memory care centers, quilts for church personnel, and for individuals with extended illnesses.
Our Impact:
What to Expect
We meet the 3rd Saturday morning of each month from 9:00 to 12:00 and have kits cut and ready to be sewn. All you need to bring is your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies. You can sew during that time or you can take kits home to complete. Every quilt is longarm quilted and then returned for volunteers to bind.
Frequently Asked Questions
You only need to know how to sew a straight line and we can teach you that. We have quilters of all levels that can assist you.
