Thanksgiving, Dreams, and Fears

Guatemala…….
Stephen Mainer asked me to write a blog about what I am feeling and anticipating about the upcoming trip to Guatemala.

Thankfulness comes to mind. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. I’m thankful for a son that told me last year it would be ‘sic’ if I went to Guatemala. ? I’m thankful for my husband, church, friends and family that are supporting me to go.

My heart has always been drawn to missions from childhood in G.A.’s…girls in action. We learned about missionaries all over the world. I dreamed of going…. Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Honestly, I’ve had some fears about going as well. I’ve been dealing with symptoms of an autoimmune disease. The what ifs were plaguing me early on in my commitment to go…what if I hold the team up; what if I can’t walk for miles, etc etc. In all my thoughts, God has encouraged me through his word… I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHEN ME. Philippians 4:13 I can’t; He can! I’m weak; He’s strong! I’m so thankful that my redeemer lives! Join me in praying for the people of Guatemala and that God will accomplish his purposes in your Ivy Creek team and in the people of Guatemala.

God bless!
